Unlike most so called gaming motherboards that are only decorated with standard design, the Killer E3100 2.5G LAN chip architecture on Z590 PG Velocita can be chosen to be controlled directly by the CPU. Hence, it can benefit a new gaming experience in lower latency, faster internet network and the overall performance a huge boost.
Direct Source Off (Default Setting)
The default setting is Direct Source disabled, the LAN chip is accessed via chipset through DMI and PCIe lanes. It brings longer route, adds latency and sacrifices the internet performance.
Killer™ Ethernet E3100 + Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x
The Killer Ethernet controller is designed specially for competitive gamers and performance-hungry users, this motherboard comes with both Killer E3100 2.5G Ethernet & WiFi 6E solution, the enhanced detection and prioritization engine provides the ultimate networking experience for gaming and multimedia applications.
Wi-Fi 6E (6GHz band) is not currently enabled by default due to the different regulation status of each country. It will be activated (for supported countries) through Windows® Update and software update once available. The update is expected to be in the middle of 2021.
